Ulysses' Shelter: building writers-in-residence network

organizes literary residences for young writers, translators and editors. The project began at the end of 2018 in three locations - Ljubljana, Larissa and Pomena on the island of Mljet, organized by Sandorf Publishing from Zagreb, in partnership with Slovenian Writers' Society (DSP) from Ljubljana and publishing house Thraka from Larissa. Each resident spends three weeks at each location from December 2018 to October 2019. The network of partners has since extended to include Literary Association Krokodil from Belgrade, Literature Across Frontiers from Wales, Inizjamed from Malta, Culture Reset from the Czech Republic, and Mallorca Film Commission from Spain. The idea of the project is to bring together artists from around the world and expose the creative potential of various European locations. Tovar.hr is the main means of informing about the Ulysses' Shelter project - about the residents, their work, and events within the project (readings, workshops, conferences and social events with residents).

Poetic Postcards from Larissa

Our Greek partner, Thraka Publishing, has started the project Poetic Postcards from Larissa, with the aim of virtually connecting Larissa with the rest of Europe by sending poetic postcards in the form of video poems that are filmed in cultural buildings and other areas of Larissa. The poems are written by Larissian poets and Ulysses' Shelter residents who have visited Larissa, and are being read by Larissian actors.
